Clinical features of autism spectrum disorder

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by persistent deficits in socialisation (relationships, communication, emotional reciprocity) and repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests, and activities.

Here are a few of the common clinical features to look out for, which can help evaluate someone's risk. Keep in mind presentations can look very different depending on the individual, severity and developmental age, so these won't be present in every affected person; this is just a rough guide.
